Apply at the embassy of the country where you'll spend the most time. Sri Lankans typically apply at the French, German, or Italian embassy in Colombo—whichever aligns with your itinerary. Processing takes 2–4 weeks under normal circumstances; apply 6–8 weeks before travel to be safe. You'll need a passport (valid 6+ months beyond your trip), proof of accommodation, flight bookings, travel insurance (mandatory), and proof of funds. No interview is usually required; you simply lodge documents and wait.
