In late April 2021, the UK government confirmed the rules of its red-amber-green traffic-light system for international arrivals, which categorised countries by COVID-19 risk and set out different testing and quarantine requirements accordingly. Green-list destinations required only pre- and post-travel tests; amber-list countries involved some quarantine; and red-list countries mandated stricter managed quarantine.
