Sri Lanka Launches Coordinated Repatriation: 5,485 Citizens Returned
Presidential Secretariat coordinates systematic repatriation of Sri Lankans stranded worldwide by COVID-19.
The Presidential Secretariat announced a new coordinated mechanism for repatriating Sri Lankans stranded overseas due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. As of 25 May 2020, the mechanism had successfully brought home 5,485 citizens from 20 countries.
If you're a Sri Lankan still abroad seeking repatriation, register through the Contact Sri Lanka portal and monitor the Presidential Secretariat's official announcements for scheduled flights. The system is processing requests systematically by location and circumstances. Provide accurate contact details so repatriation coordinators can reach you with specific flight information.
