It's well-developed for tourism, affordable by most standards, and easy to navigate.

Bangkok is the obvious start — vibrant, chaotic, and unmissable. The Grand Palace and temples are iconic; night markets and street food are the real experience. From there, head north to Chiang Mai for mountain scenery, night bazaars, and elephant sanctuaries. Or go south to Phuket, Krabi, or the islands for beaches and snorkelling.
